I was told I’d never see or walk. I’ve spent my life proving that the story you’re handed isn’t the one you have to live. Four decades later I’m still here — building things, helping people, and running toward whatever’s next.
They said I’d never see or walk. Then I ran cross country.
I was raised by my grandparents, surrounded by their love. I was born with cerebral palsy, and the doctors were blunt with them: this kid will never see, and he’ll never walk. I do both today. Somewhere along the way “never” stopped being a wall and started being a dare — I even ran cross country. That video below still means a lot to me.
I grew up a child of the 80s with a love of computers that never faded, and that curiosity turned into a career in software, healthcare data, IT, and AI. Family raised me, and I stayed close to family. Today I live in Las Vegas with my husband and our dog Falkor — and one mile from my mom, Robyn, who I have breakfast with every single Saturday.

I grew up wanting to be the one who helps.
Somewhere between Ben 10 and He-Man, I picked up an idea I never let go of: that the point of having any kind of power — strength, smarts, a good day, a spare hour — is to use it for someone else. That’s the thread running through everything I care about. It’s why I’m drawn to shows like Suits and Kyle XY, where people who could coast instead choose to do the harder, right thing. And yes, I’m a Trekkie — The Next Generation raised me as much as anything did. I still believe in what Starfleet stands for: curiosity over fear, and doing right because it’s right.
That belief isn’t just something I watch on a screen. For a while I worked at The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada — The Center — because being helpful in the abstract isn’t worth much if you don’t show up for real people in your own city.
A career built the "jack of all trades" way — and proud of it.
Over 20+ years I’ve worn many hats — data analyst, software engineer, team lead, and EDI Manager — across companies like Zotec Partners, Carbonite (Double-Take Software), Blizzard Entertainment, and The LGBTQ Center. I’ve migrated 2,000+ legacy scripts to modern C# and Python and moved teams to Agile.
This all started early. When I was 14 I built a video game called Devastation LA and mailed it off to Nintendo — the reply was a polite no, but the itch never went away. These days that same curiosity lives in my homelab, where I run Proxmox, a Synology NAS, Ubiquiti networking, and a stack of self-hosted services in Docker. It’s where I get to break things on purpose and figure out how they really work. 8-Bit Pizza
In 2018 I founded 8-Bit Pizza, fusing my love of 80s culture with great pizza — movies, cartoons, and video games included. In 2021 I rebranded a restaurant in Austin, TX into the full 8-Bit experience. It closed in 2022, but the lessons in operations, branding, and grit were priceless. The dream of an 8-Bit food truck lives on.

I’m credited as a producer on the film Code 8. My mom, Robyn Bevan, was part of it too — and she absolutely deserves the credit alongside mine.

I founded 8-Bit Pizza, an 80s-themed pizza concept — part restaurant, part love letter to the decade that raised me. The dream of an 8-Bit food truck is still very much alive.
